We're both shocked and saddened to hear the news about Ben. He was there when we both started our digital careers at Summit and I always remember the chat we had in our interview about the values of Summit and the work in the prison. A true legend and he'll be missed. 17th Dec 2018

So sad to hear this news, I still cant believe it. We worked & partied together back in the late 90s/2000s after both joining Boots. He was an amazing team guy - always kind & caring but also the pied piper on nights out. I will never forget Ben golfballing me on such occasions as 11.01am at Trent Bridge when I made the mistake of carrying 3 pints, or at his wedding when his dreams came true by marrying Tracey. I am so sorry we fell out of touch but reading all of these messages just shows he grew up (!?) to be an even greater man, father & husband. RIP Benny Boy. Love to Tracey Poppy & Harry 17th Dec 2018

Vicky Pennington - still at Boots! 17th Dec 2018

Ben - always a smile and a laugh. There are many Boots colleagues who knew you better, but I have very happy memories working as part of a great team. Sending love to all of your family and friends and colleagues.... 17th Dec 2018

My memories of Ben are mainly those him as a child, whom I saw on my occassional visits to Derby while on leave from the Army. He clearly grew up to be a great man. He enjoyed life to the full - personable, adventurous, and resilient to adversity. I know Tracy, Poppy, and Harry will draw inspiration from him at this difficult time and in the future. I shall be thinking of you all on the 20th. Go well, Uncle Jonathan Auckland, New Zealand 17th Dec 2018

Having known Ben through playing squash at Beverley, I am devastated that he had passed away. Ben was a gentle giant who was always a good friend to me. We played squash together on a regular basis. He loved the competition, but he was always fair and sportsmanlike. When my wife and daughter came to watch us play, he always made a point of saying hello to them. I will miss him immensely. Beverley Squash Club will be poorer for his absence. We will always remember Ben as the true sportsman that he was. May you rest in peace amongst the angels. Deepest condolences to all the Latham family. 16th Dec 2018

Ben was such a great guy and Dad. When we met Ben we didn’t have children but we'd look at the way Ben & Tracey loved and looked after Poppy & Harry and think – one day we want to look after ours like that. Once at Pauline & Derek’s, Poppy & Harry were playing with some v loud horns, making a racket. Ben tells them to stop and we think that’s it, the horns are gone. But no, he shouts “Right! Everyone with a horn … blow them as loud as you can!". Always so involved and making them laugh. Ben always made us feel welcome, made us laugh now he’s making making us cry. You’ve gone way too soon xx 16th Dec 2018
